Planned Giving

Planned giving is a wonderful way to make a meaningful contribution to Orchestra Iowa. There are many planned giving options available and we invite you to explore our website to learn more. A planned gift is an extraordinary demonstration of generosity and conviction. The legacy you will leave with a planned gift will better our community and foster Orchestra Iowa’s position as one of the most creative and innovative orchestras in eastern Iowa, building on its foundation of artistic excellence.

In 1990, Orchestra Iowa established an endowment to hold in perpetuity funds received through bequests and other deferred and cash gifts for the benefit of its performances and education programs. Growth of this endowment is necessary to guarantee the Orchestra’s future

Invested at the Greater Cedar Rapids Community Foundation, these funds will help to assure artistic growth and development; expand and maintain the Orchestra Iowa School and its programs; provide services to special audiences such as the elderly, physically challenged, at-risk youth and non-traditional constituencies; and keep ticket prices affordable.

Endowment funds and naming opportunities are available for:

  • General Endowment Fund
  • Conductor’s Podium
  • Guest Artist Fund
  • Orchestra Iowa School Fund
  • Musician Chairs

In addition or as an alternative to endowment giving, many choose to make a planned, or deferred gift. Planned gifts include donations from estate assets that may have a strong impact on income and estate taxes. A variety of vehicles are available including wills and bequests, gift annuities, life insurance, charitable lead trusts and charitable remainder trusts.

Bequests and planned gifts, also known as deferred gifts, allow people who are passionate about the Orchestra and its future to leave a lasting legacy that will benefit generations to come.

Orchestra Iowa is tremendously grateful to those donors who think about the Orchestra when they make their estate plans. If you notify Orchestra Iowa of a planned gift provision, including gifts through estate plans or life-income arrangements, you will be permanently enrolled in the Maestro’s Circle. Maestro’s Circle donors are recognized throughout the year at special events and performances.

By informing Orchestra Iowa of your estate plans,

  • You encourage others to leave a legacy
  • You allow us to honor you during your lifetime
  • You make it possible for the Symphony to plan for its future

Become a member of the Maestro’s Circle and share your passion with new generations of music lovers
