Shout Sisters

Shout Sisters is an exciting collaboration featuring Iowa vocalists Betsy Hickok, Lynne Rothrock, and Evelyn Rush. Drawing inspiration from the pioneering Boswell Sisters — an influential 1920s New Orleans trio known for their adventurous style — the group delivers tight harmonies, playful rhythms, and fresh takes on early jazz arrangements.

Backed by a band featuring Julia Andrews (piano), Ron Roberts (guitar), Lynne Hart (sax and clarinet), Vivian Shanley (bass), and Greg Kanz (percussion), Shout Sisters brings together some of Iowa’s top performers to present an entertaining evening of lively vintage jazz — served up with plenty of humor.

Vocalist Betsy Hickok is known for her interpretations of jazz standards and frequent collaborations with top regional musicians at venues and festivals across the state. Lynne Rothrock is a versatile vocalist who performs nationally and is known for her expressive style and engaging stage presence across a wide range of musical styles. Evelyn Rush completes the package as an Eastern Iowa vocalist with a wide variety of repertoire and styles at the ready and advanced training in voice production and education.
