The Orchestra Iowa School was established in 1986 to provide high quality instruction to music students in the greater Cedar Rapids area. Over the years, the school has expanded to include many facets of music education including early childhood programs, choral and instrumental chamber ensembles, music therapy, and individual instruction on nearly all instruments. School faculty is made up of many of Eastern Iowa’s most gifted educators, including Orchestra Iowa musicians.

Early and sustained educational experiences in music deliver skills that can be effective predictors of long-term success in college, careers, and citizenship.
