
Ticket Office Associates are responsible for delivering outstanding customer service both in person and via telephone by facilitating the sale of individual tickets and subscription packages. They play a key role in ensuring a positive and professional experience for all patrons and provide essential administrative support. The Orchestra Iowa Ticket Office manages ticketing operations for all Orchestra Iowa events, as well as performances held at the Opus Concert Café and The Paramount Theatre.
The ideal candidate will be a proactive and articulate team player who is dependable. Candidates must demonstrate the ability to thrive in a dynamic, high-volume environment that requires adaptability and efficiency.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Deliver exemplary service to donors, subscribers, and patrons through telephone, email, and in-person interactions at the Ticket Office
- Respond professionally to incoming calls by processing ticket orders and providing accurate information regarding Orchestra Iowa, the Opus Concert Café, the Paramount Theatre, and other ticketed events
- Facilitate ticket transactions both in person and over the phone, including will-call services and ticket exchanges
- Manage the processing of season subscriptions for Orchestra Iowa and the Paramount’s Broadway Series
- Utilize Tessitura ticketing software to accurately process transactions and maintain constituent records
- Ensure precise data entry and ongoing maintenance of patron accounts within the Tessitura system
- Support the implementation of marketing initiatives, including subscription renewals, group sales, and audience development efforts as needed
- Assist with event operations as required
- Provide administrative assistance, including support for donation processing and special event registration.
- Perform additional duties as assigned
REQUIREMENTS
- Excellent interpersonal, customer service, and verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to manage and handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion and professionalism
- Capacity to perform effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Must exhibit a high degree of responsibility, reliability, and flexibility to work assigned shifts, including evenings and weekends
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Outlook, and Excel
- Ability to acquire proficiency in the Tessitura CRM database within 30 days of employment
- Previous experience in sales or customer service is preferred
- Interest in or prior experience with the performing arts or within the non-profit sector is preferred

Currently Hiring for the following TICKET OFFICE HOUR SHIFTS:
Note: This is a part-time position.
- Up to two shifts, Tuesday – Friday 1:15 PM – 5:00 PM (approximately 8 hours per week)
- Various evenings and weekends for performances
- Hourly position starting at $11.00 an hour
