Position Title: Operations Manager
Status: Full Time
Reports to: Chief Operating Officer

Position Summary:
The Operations Manager is responsible for coordinating production, artistic, education and facility services for Orchestra Iowa, the Paramount Theatre and the Opus Concert Café.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Production
• Assist with Orchestra Iowa, Paramount Theatre and Opus Concert Café production needs
• Maintain and communicate the master production calendar, Symphony Organizer and artist schedules; coordinate events with the Paramount Theatre calendar and staff
• Coordinate production logistics with venues and vendors; verify technical rider requirements and secure needed items
• Create and operate PowerPoint presentations for program support, recognition and supertitles
• Staff rehearsals, performances, auditions and events
• Assist with production budgeting, reporting and payroll
• Compile and proofread program/brochure information such as rosters, repertoire, bios and text/translations
• Prepare and maintain artist and venue contracts
• Coordinate guest artist travel, lodging and hospitality; chauffeur guest artists as needed

Engagement and Outreach
• Coordinate educational and outreach services for Orchestra Iowa ensembles, including Music in the Schools, Pied Piper concerts and residencies; explore growth opportunities for each
• Coordinate the Fifth Grade Fiddles program and the Orchestra’s role in Metro Orchestra Fest
• Coordinate Orchestra Iowa Youth Concert productions; create and operate educational PowerPoint presentations; work with the school district on curriculum guides
• Coordinate guest artist master classes
• Help to strengthen the tie between Orchestra Iowa and the Orchestra Iowa School through activities outlined in the Strategic Plan

Facilities
• Maintain the schedule for the Opus Concert Café; coordinate internal use and external rentals, seeking to maximize its revenue potential; manage stage and seating requirements; draft use agreements and process invoices
• Coordinate building needs; maintain and distribute keys and security passes; ensure contracted cleaning vendors are meeting expectations; repair small items (i.e. light bulbs) and coordinate more significant maintenance issues with outside contractors
• Serve as the primary liaison to food and beverage vendors
• Assist in keeping the building clean of clutter and trash

Other
• Perform other duties as assigned by the CEO or COO

REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

• Bachelors degree or equivalent with one to three years related experience
• Must be extremely courteous, positive and a team player
• Ability to manage multiple projects and succeed within fast-paced work environment
• Must be responsible, reliable, able to work weekends and evenings
• Must have diplomacy in handling sensitive and confidential information
• Must have excellent communication skills
• Must be physically fit and able to lift 50 lbs, unassisted
• Must have a valid drivers license and own/operate a vehicle
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and QuickBooks
• Must have a passion for the performing arts and desire to bring them to Iowa audiences

SALARY AND BENEFITS
Starting salary range for this position is in the mid to upper $20Ks. Orchestra Iowa provides medical, dental, vision, short/long-term disability insurance, life insurance, parking downtown and access to world-class performing arts in Eastern Iowa.
