Now Hear This is a music series done in collaboration between Orchestra Iowa and GmixEast. The purpose of the series is to introduce, or sometimes reintroduce, an artist to an audience. It is a space for an artist to grow their art, their business acumen, their presentation and/or performance. It is dedicated to being a safe space for artistic exploration and a place of learning the business side of the music business.

Curated and managed by the team at GmixEast and with all the proceeds, after a small Opus expense, going to the artists, this is an investment by GmixEast and Orchestra Iowa in our arts community. A way to give back and nurture, Now Hear This is a showcase of the finest Eastern Iowa talent, an incubator for art, and a resource for an audience to hear something new.

October’s Artist is “Brad & The Big Wave”

Hailing from Iowa City, Iowa, Brad & the Big Wave have made a name for themselves with their versatile sound.  Led by singer and songwriter Brad Pouleson, the band has released two studio albums, “Better Side of Life” in 2023 and “This Crazy World” in 2019, both of which have garnered regular airplay on Iowa radio stations.  On stage the band brings a wall of sound that can either rock the house or bring things down and be intimate.  Their songs, albums and performances are a journey, and you’ll want to come along for the ride.

Doors open at 6:30pm with the show starting at 7:00pm. Tickets are $15 available through the Orchestra Iowa ticket office, online at artsiowa.com, or at the door the evening of the event as available.
