The Metropolitan Orchestra Festival is a combined event by the orchestra directors of the Cedar Rapids Community School District, College Community School District, Linn-Mar Community School District,  Iowa City School District, and the Mount Vernon School District in partnership with Orchestra Iowa. Over 500 of the top string students from the metropolitan and surrounding area have been selected to participate in this festival.
