Masterworks II
Get cozy with poetry. Debussy’s symphonic poem Prélude à l’après-midi d’un faune (Prelude to the Afternoon of a Faun) spins the tale of a young faun’s dreams and desires in the warmth of the afternoon sun. The folk-inspired charm Bartók’s Piano Concerto No. 3 comes to life in the hands of acclaimed pianist and Iowa City native, Connor Hanick. Bringing it all home with rich flourish & jubilation is Beethoven’s “absolutely perfect” Symphony No. 7.
