Bring Back Brucemorchestra

Orchestra Iowa is excited to announce their newest fundraising campaign aimed at bringing back the popular Brucemorchestra concert.

Orchestra Iowa’s Brucemorchestra was last held in 2021, with the 2022 concert being canceled due to a double rain out. Rising production costs to stage the popular outdoor event, combined with unpredictable weather, lead to the decision to suspend the event entirely. It costs the orchestra between $100,000 to $200,000 to put on a single Brucemorchestra concert, even if the concert is canceled due to weather.

“Since I arrived at Orchestra Iowa, the one question I get more than any other is ‘When is Brucemorchestra coming back?’” said Eric Marshall, CEO of Orchestra Iowa. “With this fundraising campaign we hope to do just that!”

The fundraising campaign seeks to raise at least $50,000 to help offset the enormous production costs of the concert. The campaign has already secured a presenting sponsor. Leland and Peggy Smithson, long-time supporters of Orchestra Iowa, have pledged up to $20,000 dollars in matching funds.

If the $50,000 goal is met, Orchestra Iowa’s Brucemorchestra will return on August 29th, 2026.
