With support from local musicians and the Coe College Department of Music, what began as a small community orchestra launched in 1923 under the baton of Dr. Joseph Kitchin. Orchestra Iowa began as a volunteer symphony of area musicians. Now playing our 100th Season, we invite you to join us for the premiere of our Centennial documentary – a look-back over the first 100 years into our future. See the original photos, hear the insider stories, and be inspired by musicians past & present of Orchestra Iowa.
