The Pork Tornadoes are a versatile and talented cover band that has been taking the Midwest by storm. 2018 marks the 10-year anniversary of the band and they are bringing a special show format to the Paramount Theatre in honor of this anniversary. The Pork Tornadoes will be honoring their unique and bumpy journey from an acoustic act to powerhouse party band with 3 different sets.
Lead singer. Mason Greve, is known for being one of the top 100 finalists on NBC’s The Voice in 2014, but many don’t know that he started out mainly playing acoustic songs in local bars. In the last 4-5 years, he has primarily only played with the full band. At this show, you will enjoy a rare acoustic set from Mason as he opens the show with some of his favorite acoustic renditions.
While the band was trying to find their identity over the last 10 years, they experimented with many different rock and blues songs in their setlist. The majority of these classics have been phased out but the second set will display some of your favorites Pork Tornadoes renditions of songs that haven’t been played in a long time. For this set, the boys will go back to the trio format that they gained notoriety for as they began to branch out away from their home of Cedar Falls, IA.
10 years later, it’s crazy to see how much the band has evolved. Their evolvement from small bars in the beginning, to headlining festivals, has come because of their constant attempts to push the limits, create a party atmosphere wherever they go and update their setlist with the best and most popular songs. The final set will unleash the party that you have come to know and love.
