is 22 year old singer-songwriter and musician born and raised in Eastern Iowa. She started out at a young age doing bluegrass and Celtic music with her family. In 2007 Josia and her sisters recorded a gospel-bluegrass christmas album titled, “Candy Canes Before Breakfast”. “It can only go up from there” she says. As a teen Josia began consistently writing original songs and found a passion for sharing a deeper side of life through lyrics and melodies. Often accompanied by Sean Murphy, her Uncle and music mentor, she has continued to write and perform her originals locally. Her songs pair folk/pop melodies with introspective lyrics that still carry hints of the bluegrass and Celtic beginnings.
